Chandranigapur 4 MW Solar PV Project

Chandranigapur 4 MW Solar PV Project

Api Power Company Limited 4 MW Solar PV Plant lies at coordinate Longitude 85022'16" E to 85022'12" E, Latitude 27006'30" N to 27006'08" N and at elevation of approximately 132 m above mean sea level. The Project site is located in Chandranigapur VDCs of Rautahat district. The Site is around 4kms on road from Deurali Chowk, Chandranighapur on the Chandranigapur-Gaur road. The total land acquired for the 4 MW PV Plant is approximately 20 acres.

The project is carried out with techno commercial evaluation of multiple commercially established solar PV technologies for the proposed site location based on the benefits that any particular technology can offer for the project lifecycle of 25 years. As per this evaluation, polycrystalline technology has been chosen for the 4 MW Solar Project.  The project either use Trina TSM-315PEG14  or  Suntech  STP315-24/Vem  polycrystalline  PV  modules  and  Sun Grow SG 2000 or equivalent inverters for the entire 4 MW project. The project has been configured with a DC:AC  over sizing  of  1.35  in  combination  with  Sun Grow SG 2000 kW  Central  Inverters  with  compatible operating  ranges.

The Project has been configured into a single modular plot having a DC capacity of 5.40 MWp with two inverters, of 2000 kW each, with a maximum AC output of 4 MW. In order to minimize DC ohmic losses, inverters, MV transformers and switchgear shall be centrally located within the modular plot. The PV modules are electrically connected with cables sized to minimize DC ohmic losses. The DC electrical output from the PV modules is fed through DC cables of suitable grade to junction boxes, which are then connected to inverters. These inverters convert the DC electrical input to AC output and the same is then stepped up using a single 4 MVa 415 V/33 kV Transformer. The 33 kV AC electricity supply is then evacuated into the NEA owned grid through 33 kV transmission line that connect the project step-up transformer to the NEA owned grid substation.

Company has obtained the Survey License of the Project for 4 MW on dated 14th Mangsir, 2073 from Department of Electricity Development, Ministry of Energy. The detailed Survey of Project has been carried out. Company has entered into the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority on dated 27th Shrawan, 2075.

The Project has started its Commercial Operation from 6th Bhadra, 2078 B.S (22nd August, 2021).
